Troon would like to officially invite you to experience great golf combined with friendly competition at the Troon Challenge, a series of amateur golf tournament contested at several of the world’s finest golf courses. Regional qualifying events are held throughout the year at the Troon courses across the United States. *Please note that the Troon Challenge is for amateurs only. Active PGA members or other golf professionals are not eligible to play.*

Below you will find pages that will navigate you through everything involving The Troon Challenge! We hope you take some time looking all the information and join us for at least one of our qualifying events. A full list of this year’s qualifying golf courses can be found under the Schedule section, along with the registration link. Each qualifier’s low gross & low net teams will receive an invite to join us at Maderas Golf Club in San Diego, CA for the Finals. Good luck & thank you for your interest in the Troon Challenge!

Regional Qualifier Format

The event format is a two-person modified best ball (Shamble). Each player hits a tee-shot, the team selects the best tee-shot and each player plays their own ball from that point until it is holed. The lower of the two scores is the team score for the hole.

There is a Gross and Net Division at each Regional Qualifier. All Teams are eligible to compete in both divisions. Each team participant must provide a valid USGA GHIN handicap to compete in the Net Division. Players will receive 50% of their Course Handicap to determine their net score per hole.

The lowest Gross and Net scores of the entire field at all regional events will qualify for the 2025 Troon Challenge National Finals!
